So, I think it's pretty safe to say that if J.R. comes a calling with a new book.. I'm there with bells on. Case in point, his new Christmas theme novella, Illicit Activity. This novella is book 3 in the Bound series that I've read and loved. The series follows Daniel/Rafael and George/Jesse and their relationship with one another. In this book, however, a new relationship is the focal point. Enter Zac, red headed wild child and Jesse brother. A no filter kind of a guy. Sleeps with any good looking human being, be it man or woman and basically has no shame, my kind of man! Then you have Elliot. Basically the complete opposite of Zac. Sub/Slave to George, but knows nothing more will come of it even though he would love for George to reciprocate his feelings. He is the son a prominent politician who is keeping his lifestyle a secret. His father, from how he is mentioned in this series so far, is pretty much a bastard. Elliot has A LOT of demons in his closet and they all stem from his father. It's Christmas time and Zac is pulling out all the stops to get to Elliot. He's seen him before and has found himself smitten with the guy. But is Elliot even ready for the worldwind that is Zac?
Once again, for me J.R. has hit this out of the ballpark. Another couple I care deeply and rooting for. I can't wait to see how this relationship develops. Zac is funny, charismatic and charming. How can you not like this dude? You would have to be a true cold hearted bitch if you weren't smitten with the man that is Zac. Shoot, I want to jump in bed with the man that's how smitten I am and I'm married! Sorry love! Elliot is just someone you feel bad for. Dealt with a crappy hand most of his life and under the rule of George, I don't think he is truly lived. And I love my King George, but he isn't the end all be all. Especially when George has his heart set on Jesse, even though he won't admit it. Just an fyi, you do get some George and Jesse time and remember this book takes place BEFORE the showdown that occurred in the epilogue of Breach of Contract. So I can only imagine what's in store for those two next..happiness in BDSM bliss? Lets get a prayer circle going for them ASAP! So with all that said and done. The fact that the author decided to put Zac and Elliot together was like the icing on the cake. Zac can completely take Elliot out of his comfort zone and let him live a little. My only concern is will Zac inadvertently break Elliot's heart since he is such a wild oat. Only time will tell with those two.
Loved this book, loved the characters and the sex which we do have to wait a bit for, was worth it. Oh boy! Was it worth it! Out of a 5. I'm giving this a 5. I love you J.R. you have me as a fan for life!
