Yeah, it's official: I'm in love with this series and Ms. Halle like you wouldn't believe. You thought Sins and Needles was something. Just you wait..Shooting Scars goes above and beyond as follow-ups go. Shooting Scars by Karina Halle finds Ellie Watt back in the clutches of her ex-boyfriend Javier Bernal. Thinking he is out for revenge after she stole money and one of his prize cars without so much as a word. If only it were that simple guys! Javier is out for revenge himself. Not with Ellie, but his old boss Travis Raines. The same man who tortured and scarred Ellie all those years ago. After Travis committed an unspeakable act against one of Javier's sisters, he is out for blood. Now that he has Ellie by his side, he is making her the ultimate pawn in a twist game of revenge. Will she be able to make it out of this alive? And now with Camden on the run out to get her back by any means will he be able to get to her before Ellie's luck runs out?

Damn I devoured this book. I'm devouring this whole series and enjoying the heck out of it. Once again, I feel like I'm sitting in a movie theatre or on my couch at home watching this book play out before me on the screen. Who do we have to call to make this series a movie? Who ever it is, let me know and I will be a pain in the ass until it happens. The whole book from beginning to end was just filled with suspense. With the fact that Ellie was back with Javier to Camden and his ex-wife..knowing the situation he was in was just off and you knew it wasn't going to end well has you enthralled.

Ellie is still the strong, somewhat delusional chick we have seen thus far in the series. I'm still loving this girl. She isn't taking any crap. But we all have our kryptonite and that would be, in her case, Javier. I will say compared to the novella, "On Every Street", we see an older, mature and more scarier Javier. There were times that I was downright afraid of this man, but after all of that he still intrigued me. Am I in love with him like I was in the novella? Nope. That ship has passed. Javier and Ellie's relationship is complex and complicated. Why they fell back into old habits had me rolling my eyes a bit, but it was understandable. Still didn't like it though. It made me mad for my boy Camden. Here he is putting his neck out on the line, literally and she is acting like Javier never hurt her all those years ago. Oh Ellie wake up! I wanted to shake the mess out of her. Back to Camden! Can I have my own cutout version of him and stick it in my bedroom to look at when things go bad? I swear this man went from being a douche in my eyes to very closely becoming a book hubby..SAY WHAT?!?! Yup add another one to this distinctive list. The way he handle coffee creamer in this this book like a badass had me whooping and hollering! You just can't get any better than Camden.

Ms. Halle gives it all to you in this book, from the writing to the evolution of the characters to action from beginning to end. Out of a 5 I'm giving this a 5. Excellent follow-up. I'm so nervous for the final book!
