Aug 24, 2014
Before you read my reviews for Iris & Dair, check out what I thought of book 1, The Wild Side, here
Book 2

Rating: 5 Stars

My Quickie Review :-P
Bravo again Mrs. Lilley!
Book 3

Rating: 4 Stars
My Review
What I Liked:
1) Dair- 40 something year old man that basically is a drool worthy, sensitive in his own right type of a man and is starting to feel himself and become his own man once he falls for Iris. In this book this man's emotions were all over the place. He has Iris one minute and his pounding her freaking brains out and the next she vanishes into thin air. I felt so freaking sorry for him. Wanted to give this man a hug and hump his leg in the same breath. It's crazy. But I will admit once Iris was around him he became such a better person in my mind. Love you Dair!
2) The Story- a 40 year old man entangle with a hot 20 something year old and she got skeletons in her closet up the ying yang. I loved it. Some authors are afraid to touch the May-December romances because it may turn the readers off. I say BOO! to those people who are not ok with it. "Age is nothing but a number", remember that saying? We truly are all human and can't help who we are attracted to our grow to love. RK proves that in this book. I'll be honest and you will see once you get to the end of this book, I wasn't for it at first, but these two cared for each other STRONGLY. Can't deny that fact at all.
3) Iris- Now she is ending up on both sides of what I did and didn't like about this book. And I also believe she is reason for the 4 rating. Iris, after it is all said and done is a cool ass chick. She strong, independent and fearless. That's what you want from a female character. Not some passive-aggressive who is going to sit there and take it. She owns her womanhood and I loved that and can put Dair on his ass without any shame. But...
What I didn't Liked:
1) Iris- She also tore Dair, seemingly perfect world upside down, I felt without any remorse. Dude was doing just fine before she galloped on the treadmill next to him and rode away with his heart. I get that she had feelings for him and all that. But you think with the skeletons you had tucked away wouldn't you try to settle those first before you decide to make a move for Dair? The constant leaving and coming back started to irk me and give me a bit of whiplash. At one point I truly thought this wasn't going to end well for either of them and we wasn't going to get our HEA. But in true RK fashion we do, but unconventionally, of course ;-). I do like Iris, but was she one of my favorite RK women, nope.
In all, I adored this book and loved it as a whole. Would I recommend you read it? Fuck yeah, it's RK Lilley. The woman is a God and phenomenally storyteller. This was an adventure like no other. We should all let go of the inhibitions once in a while and take a walk on the Wild Side!
