REVIEW OF THE VAMPIRE'S WOLF BY JENNA KERNAN

RATING: 3 STARS

I received this arc via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. There are some minor spoilers, so read at your own risk:

Brianna Vittori is a gal who just recently found out she really isn't like everyone else. All those fairy tales her grandma told her as a child weren't mere stories but her ancestry. Bri is fey, which in this story equals as a female vamp. And worst she's running for her life from male vampires who like to trap females and keep them as slaves or weapons ( and not the cleaning and cooking kind if you know what i mean). Her unfortunate power is that while she brings human males the power of early success, shes poisonous to them, LITERALLY. She drains away their life expectancy the moment she's intimate with them. It's during the time she takes her boyfriend to the hospital ( her second boyfriend ever btw, didn't want ya'll to think the gal was loose with her caboose) that vamps show up and the chase begins.
Enter Staff Sgt. Travis Toren MacConnelly ( WOWZA what a name!!). When Mac was in Afghanistan he was attacked by the enemy, only that enemy didn't turn out to be human. They were werewolves. Though he and one of his soldier's John Loc Lam survived the ambush, he carries with him the guilt that he let all his men down and they paid the ultimate prize with their lives. Now he's basically a government lab rat. It was during one of his many night missions he came across Bri. Both him and Loc save her from a torturous fate and their lives are never the same.
The story was interesting but i found the whole fey = vamp kinda hard to follow. I guess i'm a a bit of a traditionalist where vampires and fey are very different beings. I will say this: It was fast passed so it was never boring. I kept rooting for them the whole time! I also REALLY want to know what will be Loc's fate. Will he stay in were form forever? Will it take a special lady to break that spell??? So yes i will definitely read the second book to the series if there ever is one. (HINT HINT)
