Review of Back to Buckhorn by Lori Foster

Rating : 4 stars

I read this arc through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. NOTE: THERE WILL BE SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW.
This was my first Lori Foster book and i was splendidly surprised. Okay first off lets talk about this cover!!! Colin Wayne is a wet dream on this cover, i mean YOWZA! ( i was a howling wolf for a minute or two) I’ll even admit he’s what first caught my attention ( good marketing strategy Mrs. Foster. I tip my hat to you madame). And a fireman man story!
This short book was witty, sweet and even enchanting. I started it backwards (number 7) but i don’t regret it. I was rooting and swooning the whole time for Mr. Wayne AKA Garrett to get the girl. Zoey returns back home to the town of Buckhorn, where dramatic events made her take off. Her mom is injured and she basically has to face the music. Thinking her friend was picking her up at the airport she runs face first into her brother Garrett, the boy now a man she had such a huge crush on. To make things worse she got puked on, on the plane (enter hilarity here)and that’s the last person she wants to see. It’s bad enough she has to face people who thought she was weird back then, still blame her for her high school boy friends death. Garrett is the last person she wants to see her at her worst. Determined to make a go of it shes’willing to start over, open her dog grooming shop and take care of her mom.
After being around him for a bit she becomes comfortable enough to pursue him and proposition him to a friends with benefits arrangement.
Garrett is more than willing and more so do anything to convince the girl he’s held a torch for to stay indefinitely. Just a truly fantastic sexy love story. Will definitely be reading more of her books.

Goodreads synopsis:

For odd-girl-out Zoey Hodge, the best thing about Buckhorn, Kentucky, was leaving it behind. And now she’s back—at least until she can nurse her mother back to health and hightail it out of there anew. But there’s one person she doesn’t mind seeing again. Garrett Hudson was one of the few who was always kind to her. Now he’s a firefighter—still one of the good guys, but with a sexy alpha charm that’s tempting her inner bad girl.

In school, Zoey was smart, witty and unafraid to be herself. Garrett fell hard back then, and he’s falling even faster now. As far as he’s concerned, there are all kinds of reasons Zoey should stick around. Her pet grooming business. Her mom. And the chance for him to prove that he can be her real-life hero in every way that matters…
